How to choose the width of crawler plate of bulldozer

by:Laike     2020-07-24
When choosing a bulldozer, many people will struggle: Is the track shoe wide or narrow? Some people say that the wide is not trapped, and some people say that the narrow fuel-efficient runs fast. So how do you choose a track shoe? Let's go check it out with the editor.

Without getting stuck in the car, the narrower the track, the better

Different track shoes have a great influence on the production efficiency of the bulldozer and the service life of the undercarriage. The selection of the track shoes should consider factors such as ground conditions, application conditions and undercarriage wear life. ---Order track shoe manufacturer

When the width of the track shoe increases, the buoyancy of the track shoe increases, which can adapt to more working conditions; but the maneuverability of bulldozing decreases, and the structural life of the track shoe and other components of the bottom plate also decreases. And the wider the track shoe, the greater the friction with the ground, the greater the loss of power consumption caused by driving, and the fuel consumption of the bulldozer also becomes higher. Therefore, the width of the track shoe is not as wide as possible. A basic principle when choosing a track shoe is that the narrower the track shoe, the better the bulldozer is to ensure that it does not become trapped. ---Order track shoe manufacturer

 Single tendon VS self-cleaning

At present, the most common on the market are single-ribbed track shoes and self-cleaning track shoes. What are the advantages and disadvantages of these two track shoes, and how to choose?

Single-ribbed track shoe is the most widely used track shoe with good penetration and traction effect. It is used for standard bulldozers and is suitable for use under normal working conditions. If the scene you are working in is a mine, a construction site, or a dry soil layer, you can basically choose a single-reinforced track shoe.

However, when constructing on soft and damp soil, the single-reinforced track shoe is easy to sink and the chain board is quickly filled with clay. At this time, it is necessary to use a self-cleaning track shoe. The self-cleaning track shoes are V-shaped and generally made of cast steel. When moving around the sprocket and guide wheels, the self-cleaning track shoes are separated from each other, so that debris can fall down and can play a self-cleaning role. This track shoe is only used for wet ground bulldozers with low ground pressure. It is suitable for soft, wet/muddy ground conditions that can withstand little or no impact.
