How to ensure the safety of crane wheels?

by:Laike     2020-07-20
Ensure that the ratio of pulley diameter to wire rope diameter (h2) should not be less than the value specified in Table 6-5. The h2 value of the balance pulley is equivalent to the bridge type crane and the general pulley; for the boom type crane, it is not less than 0.6 times the value of the general pulley.
   Crane wheel is a fixed pulley that cooperates with the hook group. It is fixed on the structure and is composed of several fixed pulleys and movable pulleys. It can save effort and change the direction of force. So how does the crane wheel work safely?

   First, ensure that the ratio of pulley diameter to wire rope diameter (h2) should not be less than the value specified in Table 6-5. The h2 value of the balance pulley is equivalent to the bridge type crane and the general pulley; for the boom type crane, it is not less than 0.6 times the value of the general pulley.

   Second, the pulley should be free of defects and cracks, the pulley groove should be smooth and smooth, and there should be no defects that damage the steel rope.

   Third, the pulley should be equipped with a device to prevent the wire rope from jumping out of the rope groove. Metal cast pulleys should be scrapped when one of the following conditions occurs. ① Cracks; ② Uneven wear of the pulse up to 3 mm;

   (1) The diameter of the pulley and the diameter of the wire rope should match, satisfying D≥(e-1)d.

   Where: D is the nominal diameter of the pulley, d is the diameter of the steel wire rope, e is the coefficient, and the bridge crane generally takes 20-30.

   (2) The pulley rotates flexibly without defect.

   (3) The pulley guard and other devices to prevent the wire rope from jumping out of the wheel groove are installed firmly without damage or obvious deformation.

   (4) The pulley should be scrapped when one of the following conditions occurs:

   a. Crack.

   b. Wheel groove uneven wear up to 3mm.

  C. Wheel groove wall thickness wears up to 20% of original wall thickness.

  D. Due to wear, the diameter of the bottom of the wheel groove is reduced by 50% of the diameter of the wire rope.

  E. Other defects that damage the wire rope.
