The excavator tracks are adjusted in this way,

by:Laike     2020-07-27
As the working life of the excavator grows, the crawler link pins and bushings of the walking part will wear to a certain extent during normal work, which will cause the crawler belt to have a lower degree of tension, making the excavator's walking force insufficient or causing excessive walking mechanism Wear. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically adjust the tension of the crawler track, which can extend the service life of the excavator crawler track.

1
How to detect track tightness

Before adjusting the track tightness, first measure the track tightness (sag) to see if it is in the proper range.
Rotate the excavator. The upper structure 90 degrees, then lower the bucket and lift the crawler off the ground.

Keep the angle between the boom and the arm within 90 degrees to 110 degrees, and place the bucket arc on the ground. Place pads under the machine to support the machine. Rotate the track backward two full turns, then rotate the track forward two full turns.

Adjusting the tightness of the track must also be adapted to local conditions

According to the difference in soil quality of different construction sites. Adjust the tension of the crawler track, which can extend the life of the excavator crawler track.

The first case: practice at construction sites that are covered with pebbles: the crawler should also be adjusted slightly looser. Benefit: When walking on the pebbles, the bending of the crawler can be avoided.

The second case: when the soil is soft, the practice: the crawler should be adjusted slightly loose. Some benefits: the crawler and the rail link. It is easy to attach soil to the soil to prevent the abnormal pressure exerted on the rail link due to the adhesion of the soil.

The third case: when the ground is firm and flat, it is better to adjust the track slightly. Benefits: When the loose crawler sags too much, it may come into contact with the frame and damage the frame.

Crawler adjustment is too tight: If the crawler is too tight, the walking speed and walking power will decrease. This will not only cause a decrease in operating efficiency, but also cause excessive wear due to excessive friction applied to the pins and bushings.

The track is adjusted too loose: the track loosely rests on the drive wheel and carrier sprocket, causing greater wear or damage. Moreover, when the loose crawler sags too much, it may come into contact with the frame and damage the frame. In this way, even if the reinforced lower walking body is not properly adjusted, unexpected failures may occur.

How to adjust the track tightness according to the operation regulations

Specific steps:

Loose track:

1. To loosen the track, use a long socket wrench to slowly rotate the valve counterclockwise, and the grease will be discharged from the grease outlet.

2. Turn the valve one turn to one and a half turns, it is enough to relax the crawler.

3. If the grease cannot be discharged smoothly, you can lift the track off the ground and rotate the track slowly.

4. After obtaining proper track tightness, tighten the valve clockwise to 147 Nxm (15kgfxm). Note: Do not loosen the valve quickly or excessively, otherwise, the grease in the adjusting hydraulic cylinder will be sprayed out. The valve should be loosened carefully, and the body or face should not be pointed at the valve. Never loosen the grease nipple.

If there is gravel or mud between the sprocket and the track, they should be removed before loosening the track.

Tighten the track:

To tighten the crawler, you can connect the grease gun to the lubricating nozzle, add grease, and know that the crawler belt tension reaches the specified standard.

If the track is still too tight after turning the valve counterclockwise, or the track is still loose after adding lubricating oil to the grease nipple, it is an abnormal phenomenon. At this time, do not try to disassemble the track or track adjuster, because the high-pressure grease in the track adjuster will bring danger, you should immediately contact the local designated dealer to provide after-sales support.

Reasonable adjustment of the track tightness can provide the excavator with continuous and stable driving force, and avoid unnecessary damage to the track shoes. I believe that the above operating procedures can help everyone and can be used flexibly in the actual work of maintaining equipment.
